Wills are available in the Surrogate's Office starting in 1806.
The County Clerk's office does do research at the following rates:
$10 per surname - copies are $.50 per page.

I wrote to Mr. Hanno and was told that such request should be address instead upstairs to the Lewis County Surrogate Court.  I received a note back from Sally Szijarto, Court Office Assistant, noting:
 
"Please note that should you request future searches of this office, there is a search fee involved in the amount of $90.00 for estates over 25 years old.  There is also a 25 cent per page fee for any photocopies.  Checks should be made payable to Lewis County Surrogate Court."
